The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate for Chanchaga Federal Constituency of Niger State, Hajara Alhassan Masaga, has pledged to introduce more empowerment programmes for women and youths if elected in the 2027 general elections.

Masaga made the commitment during a press briefing with journalists in Minna, the Niger State capital.

She said Chanchaga Local Government Area faces several challenges requiring urgent intervention, particularly in infrastructure, youth empowerment, inclusive governance and access to potable water.

According to her, the challenges are surmountable if there is the political will and commitment to address them.

The NNPP candidate outlined some of her priorities, including educating voters on their constitutional and civic responsibilities and encouraging them to demand effective representation from elected officials at all levels.

She also promised to facilitate federal government projects and programmes that would directly benefit residents of the constituency.

Masaga said her administration, if elected, would prioritise women and youth empowerment while ensuring that the people of Chanchaga have a stronger voice in governance.

Speaking at the briefing, the Director-General of the campaign council, Yusuf Isah, said the campaign team was prepared to present Masaga to the electorate as a credible and tested candidate capable of providing effective representation.

Mr Isah urged residents of Chanchaga Federal Constituency to support the NNPP candidate, describing her as someone committed to the development and welfare of the people.

The NNPP Chanchaga Local Government Woman Leader, Mairo Jibrin, also assured the candidate of the support of women in the party.

She said the women would mobilise and campaign vigorously across the constituency to ensure Masaga’s victory in the 2027 general elections.
