Representatives flagbearer Pharmacist Muhammad Abdulkadir Abugi had stressed the need to provide young people with meaningful opportunities through sports.

He made the emphasis as stakeholders gathered at Limawa B for the final of the Community League in Chanchaga Local Government Area of Niger State.

The PDP Chanchaga flagbearer said sustained investment in grassroots football could play a significant role in reducing youth involvement in smoking, fighting and other negative street activities.

Abugi described the tournament as more than a football competition, saying it represents an investment in the future of young people by providing them with a platform to display their talents and build positive relationships.

He urged government, political leaders, community leaders and private individuals to support grassroots sporting programmes, stressing that early engagement could help prevent young people from becoming involved in social vices.

The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Super Star Football Academy, Muhammad Maigari, said the tournament reflects the academy’s broader vision of using sports to give young people direction and purpose.

Maigari added that the academy was established to bring youths together, develop their sporting abilities and provide an alternative to harmful activities on the streets.

The final attracted young players, parents, supporters and residents, with Super Star Football Academy defeating Yapi Football Academy 2–1 to emerge champions.

Trophies and medals were presented to the two finalists in recognition of their performances.
