The President of The Blue Resolution Initiative (TBRi), Muhammad Alfa Muhammad, has commended the sponsor and convener of the “Nigeria First, Before Anything” Summit for providing a platform for civic engagement, national dialogue and responsible digital communication.

Muhammad participated in the summit held in Abuja on Saturday, October 10, 2026, organised by the Niger Bloggers/Online Publishers and Content Influencers Group (Version 1.2).

The event brought together media practitioners, online publishers, content creators and other stakeholders to discuss patriotism, national interest and the role of digital communication in national development.

In a statement, TBRi praised Hon. Mohammed Idris Malagi, the summit sponsor, and Nuruddeen Isyaku Daza, the convener, for creating a platform to promote civic education and constructive engagement between citizens and public institutions.

From a civil society perspective, the TBRi president said putting Nigeria first should mean placing the lives, security and welfare of Nigerians at the centre of public policies and governance.

He stressed that patriotism requires citizens to contribute responsibly to national development while encouraging public institutions to uphold transparency, accountability and the rule of law.

Muhammad noted that acknowledging government achievements and demanding accountability were not mutually exclusive, adding that responsible citizenship required both recognition of progress and constructive scrutiny of public institutions.

The organisation also highlighted the responsibility of bloggers, online publishers and content creators in shaping public understanding, urging digital media practitioners to prioritise factual reporting, verification and public-interest journalism.

TBRi cautioned against misinformation and incitement, noting that constructive criticism, when based on facts and directed towards practical solutions, could contribute to improved governance.

Reaffirming its commitment to human rights advocacy and good governance, the organisation called for a culture of integrity among public officials and citizens.

It also encouraged the organisers to sustain the summit as a platform for continued dialogue, civic education and public participation.

TBRi maintained that national development and public trust depend on responsible citizen engagement and transparent, accountable institutions that serve the interests of the people.
